Not Quite Margaritaville, But Pretty Close…
Looking for a really cool place to kick back and have a great time? Why not enjoy a fun-filled atmosphere with live music, good entertainment and exceptional food and drink? If you’re in the Gulf Shores area, then be sure to check out Lulu’s at Homeport Marina. It’s just the ticket!
The restaurant is owned and operated by Lucy “Lulu” Buffet, little sister to the famous musical legend, Jimmy Buffet. Lulu’s offers a vast variety of delicious seafood dishes including: fried crab claws, caviar, oysters, grilled shrimp quesadillas, mahi-mahi tacos, seafood gumbo and fresh shrimp pulled right from the Gulf!
Lulu’s serves up Southern cuisine, too, such as fried okra, fried green tomatoes, coleslaw, and grilled, fried or blackened catfish.
Also on the menu are a variety of snack baskets, sandwiches, and Lulu’s very own “Cheeseburger in Paradise,” dubbed “The Crazy Sista Version.”
When it comes to liquid refreshment, Lulu’s delivers on that front, as well. If you’re looking for quality spirits to help you unwind, be sure to check out Lulu’s impressive list of wines, domestic and imported beers, margaritas on the rocks, island specialty drinks, fruity daiquiris, and Lulu’s World Famous Bushwhacker.
Or if you’re in the mood for something non-alcoholic, why not try one of Lulu’s fruit smoothies, bottomless sodas, pink lemonades, iced teas or coffees? There’s milk and juice for the kids, too.
In addition to their scrumptious menu, Lulu’s hosts live entertainment every night. Upcoming events include: “Boo” Lu’s- a fun-filled haunted house event for the whole family, scheduled to be held in late October, just in time for Halloween 2007.
Lulu’s has many other cool things to check out, including an online store with fun and interesting odds and ends such as T-shirts, hats, visors, koozies, collectibles, and their very own, Lulu’s fun food items. Their web site also features a live-feed via webcam that allows you to watch for yourself what’s going on, both inside and outside of the restaurant, at any given time. It has a camera control with tilt, pan, zoom, and other functions. It’s a little something fun and different to play around with for a while.
Lulu’s is located just off of Alabama Hwy. 59, at the Intercoastal Waterway and Homeport Marina.
