The grand opening of Geronimo’s on Pensacola Beach was Sunday, Sept 30th. Locals and visitors where able to sample and taste what Geronimo’s has to offer Pensacolian’s and tourist; including 50+ local artist and boutiques conveniently located under one roof. Inside the store you'll find an electric mix of unique art and gifts, some of which are available in this store. True art like wood carvings by local artist Rosemary Prendergast meets beach souvenirs by Blue Tropics or Angel's Garden. Hand made jewelry, bags, oil paintings, photography, and ceramics to apparel, accessories and beach gifts, this extraordinary store has something for everyone. Every Sunday, wine tasting and weekly artist are also highlighted providing consumers knowledge and understanding of the artist and their work. Consumers can find everything from gifts, art, clothing and linens making Geronimo’s Outpost a shopping experience not to be missed.
The store is named after the famous Apache Warrior who was imprisoned at Ft. Pickens for 15 months. The attractive, air-conditioned interior is designed to resemble the prison walls and floors of the fort, and each merchant has creatively designed his retail space to complement the interior while defining its product line. Vendors are offered the opportunity to affordably and conveniently bring their wares to the Old Towne type setting and shoppers are afforded a one stop location for a wonderful variety of goods.
Store owners Angelika and Fred Simmons got the idea after a visit to San Diego, California which they stumbled upon a similar Shopping experience. “We thought it would such a wonderful idea to bring this concept to Pensacola and focus on promoting and highlighting our local artist and business boutiques.” Local business boutiques and artist can showcase and sell their products by renting square footage located within the store. Consumers can shop/visit multiple stores with the convenience of staying in one location. Angelika, also the owner of the local boutique, Venus in Paradise, has relocated it to the location. Venus in Paradise specializes in high-quality, high-fashion clothing.
The store is located at 69 Via De Luna.
Hours: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Seven days a week.
